When you hire a freelance copywriter you take all the risk upfront. Whether you invest $350 or $25,000 that investment immediately adds to your break-even point. Plus there is no guarantee you will get the sales to cover your investment in the copy.
3 Elements Determine Your Success
There are three elements that determine the success or failure of your product sales:
- the list
- the product
- the copy
When you have a proven list of buyers and a good product with a good sales history the number of products you sell hinges on the copy.
No copywriter, not even Clayton Makepeace the best copywriter on the planet, can guarantee you a sales letter that works like gangbusters each and every time. Plus good copy takes far more than a string of pearly words strung across the page. To write high converting sales copy your copywriter needs to get to know you. Your copywriter needs to go through your product with a fine toothed comb.
And then your copywriter must research the market and the competition ALL before your writer puts pen to paper. There’s a huge time investment and a lot of skull sweat that happens before your copywriter starts drafting your sales copy then it takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to produce a winning sales letter.
That’s why any good freelance copywriter has to ask $25,000 to write a sales letter.
Freelance v Partnership
And that’s why I think the partnership model is much fairer. We share both the risk and the rewards.
First, my experience has proven you don’t just need a sales letter you need someone to help you with a marketing plan. You need turn-key email campaigns, direct mail campaigns, and landing pages all in addition to a sales page.
You need help clarifying your target audience, growing your list of ideal prospects, getting your current customers to buy more and buy more often.
You need my marketing expertise to guide you as to what to do and how to do it to explode your sales ten fold.
I Put Skin in the Game Right Along with YOU
Plus you need a marketing partner willing to put some skin in the game. Why should you shoulder all the risk? I don’t think you should.
So here’s how I partner with clients. If you took a look at who I work with and you can say “yes” to a fair amount of those statements we might be a good match. The first step is to contact Cheryl and complete the form. I’ll reply and we can go from there.
When we decide we could work well together we’ll come to an agreement on a monthly marketing consultation retainer. Then when I write sales copy for you I’ll mother hen every step of the process and I’ll share the risk with you. Instead of a flat fee I work off the percentage of sales. That way when a sales letter blows the doors off the barn we both win big. And if a sales letter flops I suffer right along with you because part of almost nothing is still almost nothing.
If you agree that’s a more than fair way to get the sales copy and marketing advice you need then fill out the contact Cheryl form and we’ll schedule a time to discuss your particular business.
You Risk Nothing
There’s no risk. There’s no need to worry about a high-pressure sales pitch. That’s not going to happen. If I have an opening available for a client the last thing I want to do is talk you into working together. We have to be a good fit and there has to be a potential to make YOU a lot of money or I’m not interested.
So…
… if you don’t want your sales to explode don’t contact me…
… if you don’t have a truly good product (physical or information) don’t contact me…
… if no one can tell you anything don’t contact me…
Otherwise… let’s talk about your direct response marketing needs.
